The Festival of Colours – Holi in Rajasthan

Embark on a journey to discover sacred India and experience the unforgettable Holi festival. This festival symbolises the victory of good over evil, the renewal of nature and the arrival of spring. The locals, dressed in white, gather in the streets, temples and palaces to sprinkle each other with coloured powders (gulal), dance to the sound of traditional music and share moments of conviviality. In Rajasthan, Holi takes on a particularly spectacular dimension. The cities of Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Pushkar offer celebrations blending royal traditions, processions, folk performances, dances, music and local gastronomy. The night before Holi, the ritual of Holika Dahan gathers families around large fires symbolising the destruction of evil and the triumph of light.

Itinerary: Delhi - Jodhpur - Udaipur (Holi celebration in Udaipur) - Pushkar - Jaipur - Ranthambore - Agra

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

Upon arrival, traditional welcome with a garland and a bottle of mineral water by our representative. Meet your driver and transfer to your hotel. Check-in at the hotel.  

Day 2: Visit of Delhi

In the morning, start your visit at the Grand Mosque. Visit Raj Ghat (the Gandhi Memorial), the Humayun's Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Qutb Minar, a structure combining Hindu, Arabic, and Persian arts. Stop at the India Gate. In the evening, take a rickshaw ride in the Old Delhi area. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Delhi - Jodhpur - by flight

You take the domestic flight to Jodhpur .  Upon arrival in Jodhpur, another driver greets you at the airport . 

Jodhpur is known as the blue city of Rajasthan due to its blue and white painted houses that keep the room cool during the summer. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur and Jaswant Thada, then transfer to your hotel. In the evening free time.

Day 4:  Jodhpur - Udaipur 
Drive to Udaipur, en route during free time you can visit  Ranakpur.   "Famous for its Jain temples with intricate carvings." After, continue the drive to Udaipur, also known as the white city of Rajasthan. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel.  Free day to stroll through the shopping alleys of the old town. 

Day 5 - The Festival of Colours in Udaipur

Holi, often celebrated as the "Festival of Colours", is an ancient Hindu festival with roots dating back thousands of years. On the other side of a strict agrarian rite, it has become a joyful celebration of the triumph of good over evil, of love and the arrival of spring. Its history is deeply imbued with mythology, cultural rituals and seasonal meanings. To this day the festival of colours refers to the coloured powders thrown on Hindu believers during their prayers. 

Day 06 - Udaipur - Pushkar
After your breakfast, drive to Pushkar, famous for its largest cattle fair in India, the temple of God Brahma, and the sacred lake. It is renowned for its annual cattle fair where camel and cattle trading takes place. Upon your arrival, transfer and check into your hotel, then visit the Pushkar Lake and Brahma temple, the only temple of its kind in the world. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07 - Pushkar - Jaipur
In the morning, after breakfast, we drove to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, also known as the "pink city" due to the pink walls, shops, and buildings of the city. It offers a royal heritage to its visitors. Upon arrival in Jaipur, check-in and overnight at the hotel. In the evening, take a stroll through the city of Jaipur in a rickshaw or tuk-tuk.

Day 08 - Visit to Jaipur
Start your visit with an elephant ride up to Amber Fort. Later, visit Albert Hall, the City Palace, the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), and Jantar Mantar, the largest stone observatory in the world. Visit the Govind temples dedicated to the god Krishna, the Lakshmi Narayan, and the Ganesh temples. Enjoy a Bollywood film at Raj Mandir Cinema. Optional activity in Jaipur: half a day at an elephant farm, with an elephant painting experience and the opportunity to feed this giant creature. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 09 - Jaipur - Ranthambore
Take the road to Ranthambore National Park. Check into your lodge.
In the afternoon, set off for a jeep safari accompanied by a naturalist guide in search of the majestic Bengal tiger. The park is also home to sambar deer, crocodiles, antelopes, and a wide variety of birds. Return to the hotel.

Day 10 – Ranthambore – Abhaneri – Agra
In the morning, after breakfast, drive to Agra, stopping en route to visit one of the most impressive step wells in India, Chand Baori in Abhaneri. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel.

Day 11 Visite of Agra & Back to Delhi
Early in the morning visit to the Taj Mahal. The best time to visit the Taj Mahal, you can also explore the different moods of the place. Return to the hotel. Then visit the Agra Fort and the Tomb of Itimad ud Daulah. In the afternoon return to Delhi.

Day 12 - Departure
In the morning, your driver will transfer you to Delhi airport. Take your return flight.
