The Himalayan region is a paradise and offers many wonderful trekking experiences for those seeking adventure in the mountains and peaks. The Markha Valley trek is definitely one of the most picturesque and famous treks in Hemis National Park. This trek will take you to high passes over 4575m in altitude and will traverse beautiful villages nestled in the deep valley surrounded by imposing mountains. You will admire numerous monasteries, remnants of an ancient Buddhist tradition. The trek through the high passes of Stok La, Ganda La, and Kongmaru La offers spectacular views of the Himalayan peaks. You will then descend towards the famous Hemis monastery where the trek concludes. During this trek, you will stay with local families, giving you the opportunity to discover the daily life of the villagers and their unique Buddhist culture.
