Ladakh

-
Period - June to September.
-
the altitude between 3,200 and 5,600m
LADAKH has inherited a rich culture that still today is part of the heritage of the western Himalayas. The monuments, monasteries, art, oral literature, fairs, festivals, and collective celebrations bear witness to the traditions. Here, every event – marriage, birth, livestock rearing, harvests, and even the blooming of plants – is majestically marked, celebrated with a feast or through dances and folk songs that reflect its rich culture. In summer, most villages organise festivals and events such as colourful archery or Thanksgiving, while winter is dedicated to religious festivities and other social and cultural events.
